Meet Macie

Macie Jo White entered the world on April 8, 2022—tiny, fragile, and two months earlier than expected. Born via emergency Cesarean section, she faced immediate complications at birth. In the hours that followed, her parents, Amy and Jonathan, received news no family is ever prepared to hear: Macie had suffered a severe brain injury known as Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE).

A prolonged lack of oxygen and blood flow during delivery had affected over 80% of her brain. The outlook was grim. Doctors explained she would likely face significant physical and cognitive challenges and may never walk, talk, or experience the world in typical ways.

But Macie had other plans.

From her earliest moments, Macie showed a quiet, powerful strength. Despite her diagnosis, she continues to fight, grow, and surprise everyone around her with her resilience. She’s full of life, curiosity, and a gentle spirit that radiates love.

Macie’s days are filled with therapy sessions, medical care, and specialized equipment. She has experienced seizures, vision impairment, and muscle tightness—but she also has the brightest smile, an undeniable will to keep going, and a fierce determination that inspires everyone she meets.

She is the heart and soul of this foundation.

Macie is not defined by her injury. She is a daughter, a fighter, and a light in so many lives. Her journey reminds us that even in the face of profound adversity, love and hope can rise.

Through the Macie Jo Foundation, her story becomes a force for good—bringing awareness, support, and comfort to other families navigating similar paths.

Macie’s life may have begun with challenges, but her legacy is one of courage, connection, and compassion.
